/Open Until Filled Salary: $31,662.75 to $35,019 Annually Salary is based on education & experience

Job Description: To oversee the day-to-day operations of the Unit by greeting the public and answering the telephone in a timely and courteous manner; communicate effectively; provide secretarial support services to the program staff of Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) service coordination. Support services involve typing letters, memos, and reports; answering phones and taking messages; filing; data entry; maintenance of unit supplies; completing purchase orders, reservations, and travel requests; transporting of charts; collecting travel vouchers, timesheet collecting and distributing unit mail. Education: Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Requires 2 years of relevant experience in secretarial work with basic computer knowledge. Ability to maintain clerical records, prepare routine reports, ability to make basic mathematical computations and to understand and follow oral instructions. Have some knowledge of medical terminology. Prefer someone with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related conditions; must be able to work independently as well as with a team. Good organizational skills are necessary.
Hours of Work: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Monday through Friday; may require evening flexibility to meet the needs of the program; may require travel with-in the seven-county service area.
Licensure/Certification: Must have reliable transportation and a safe driving record. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and must be insurable by Agency insurance.
Physical Requirements: Ability to drive a vehicle; light lifting under 15lbs., moderate carrying 15-44 lbs., simple grasping, walking, sitting, standing, operating a motor vehicle, operating office equipment, ability to see and hear (with aid), ability to read, write, count, ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to work closely with others; ability to pass the Preventative Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) Training as well as all other physical requirements for this position.
