Salary: $40,275 to $49,081 Annually                      Salary is based on education & experience

Job Description: Provides daytime emergency services/response, information, referral, and intake services to adults in Brazos County Detention Center who have mental/emotional difficulties or illnesses. The services provided include and face-to-face assessments at the Detention Center to obtain relevant historical, social, functional, psychiatric, developmental, or other information from the individual and/or family seeking services and determine if additional assessments are needed. If additional assessments are needed, ensure that assessments are arranged/coordinated. Also provides information/education about services available, both through MHMRABV, other services available in the Detention Center, as well as community resources, making referrals as indicated. This intake specialist will review all Detention Center booking screenings to assist in early identification of behavioral health needs.
Crisis on Call work required as agency need dictates.
Education:
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral, social sciences, humanities, or education field.
Experience: Prefer experience working with individuals with behavioral health and substance use issues.
Hours of Work: Typically, 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday—Friday; need to have a flexible schedule to accommodate needs of program and families. Crisis on Call work required as agency need dictates.
Licenses/Certifications:
Ability to be credentialed as Qualified Mental Health Professional. Valid Texas driver’s license and are insurable by agency insurance. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA) certification.
Physical Requirements: Light lifting under 15lbs., moderate carrying 15-44lbs., simple grasping, walking, sitting, standing, operating a motor vehicle, operating office equipment including a computer, ability to see and hear (with aid), ability to read, write, and count, ability to maintain confidentiality, ability to work closely with others, and the ability to pass the Preventative Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) Training as well as all other physical requirements for this position
